General description or who we are and how we operate

The military history magazine focused on military history topics, museums and archiving has been published since 1997. It is a professional magazine dedicated to the formation and raising of historical and national awareness in the educational and pedagogical process within the Armed Forces as well as in general public. Meanwhile it describes broader military-political and international affairs in the past. The magazine is structured into extensive original studies- with many references- dedicated to history from the ancient up to present time. The documents and materials involve studies and professionally created transcripts of some archive sources of the Slovak or international provenience in its Slovak translation. From time to time the magazine focuses on some important personality of military history in its section The Personalities. The reviews are focused on the analyses of the current Slovak and international history-graphic production. Alongside the magazine brings short news of the development of historical science sector, the news of some scientific events in the section Chronicle followed by the section Annotations and Bibliography. It is published on quarterly basis. On behalf of its narrow scientific profile it mainly serves scientific purposes of the sector, scientific institutions and vocational school. Non-professionals can find the magazine in all academic, state scientific, local and regional libraries.

Each and every issue of the magazine is formed as a scientific cooperation of the Editorial Board comprising of leading professionals in the areas in charge of the guidance of the scientific contents.
