The author in this study deals with the issue, which has been observed unsufficiently, marginally only in the general context related to the Slovak histography. He concentrates on the issue of organisational level and development of the Defence Capacity Union, the question of programmed arrangements and determined missions. He follows the original archive research. Defence Capacity was a national incorporate institution formed with the aim to arrange and provide defence preparation of civil inhabitants. The author collected and classified quite great amount of factographic information, most of which was unknown. Less attention is paid to social and political aspects of Defence Capacity existence which represented the main reason of its disestablishment.
