In the study the author aims at the issue related to the last stage of existence and activities of Hlinka’s Guard (HG), i.e. in the years 1943 and 1944 before breaking out the Uprising. He points out a gradual decline and confrontation of opinions in HG commanding circles. Quite large attention is paid to organisational building up of HG readiness detachments that represented one of pillars of the occupation regime in Slovakia after breaking out the Slovak National Uprising (SNP). The author outlines basic targets of their activity (military anti-rebel activity in cooperation with German security elements and German Army, anti-partisan actions, guarding and disciplinary actions). He explains a system of their manning, relation to the Army, he points out their military potential represented by field companies and field battalions, ideological activity inside readiness detachments of Hlinka´s Guard (POHG) etc. In the next part the author analyses some chosen aspects of POHG activity. The greatest attention is paid to POHG deployment to anti-partisan actions.
