TOKÁROVÁ, Zuzana: From Loyalty to Apathy (Changes in Mood and Attitude of Slovak Citizens in 1939 –1945 on the Prešov Example).

The author decided to process the issue connected with regional history of Slovakia, however with a relatively broad extent. In relation to the archival sources, she chose to research on a regional level, however relying mostly on the preserved periodical situation reports of the lower units of public administration. The author also draws on literature, being very well oriented on the subject. In her work, the author concentrates on the decisive factors which, according to her, influenced the general public’s mood and attitude. This is also reflected in the very structure of the work, divided into three thematic areas. The first one notes the impact of warfare on the public mood (the outbreak of war on Poland and USSR), the second one monitors the reactions to the changing economic situation and the third one describes the attitude of majority society to the so called solution of the Jewish question in Slovakia.
