The study deals with the military and political issues of the Slovak-Croatian relationships during the World War II. Visit of the Croatian Marshal S. Kvaternik (the second man of Croatia) – represents the background for author’s analyses, considerations and hypotheses. These are focusing on activities of the Slovak Minister of National Defence towards the Croatian military circles in the period in question. The author also perceives the wider context of these relations which attempted for some sort of renewal of the Little Entente or negotiations regarding cooperation between Romania, Croatia and Slovakia. In relation to efforts for enforcement of the Slovak-Croatian military relations, the author follows the personal power interests of Čatloš, whose position on the Slovak internal political scene was strengthened also thanks to the active participation of the Slovak Army on the Eastern Front.
