The published document represents a unique written testimony on the functioning of the Czechoslovak Military Attaché Offi ce in Berlin, in the period most exposed from the Czechoslovak point of view – in 1938.This is a unique historical document considering the extensive shredding of the military intelligence service documents in 1938 and 1939, but also because the main protagonists of the events could no longer provide their testimony. During the World War Two, the Czechoslovak Attaché in Berlin, Colonel of the General Staff, Antonín Hron, was imprisoned by the Nazis for his resistance activity and died shortly before the war ended. The air force attaché, F/ Lt. Jaroslav Malý, died in 1941 in Great Britain as the member of RAF. The memories of as yet unknown sergeant of the offi ce service have remained the only testimony of a direct participant of the events at the Czechoslovak Military Attaché Offi ce in Berlin, one of the most exposed offi ces of the pre-war Czechoslovakia attachés.
