The published memory of the so called Great War participant introduces chronologically the events he was experiencing since his recruitment to the Army in October 1914 and subsequent secondment to the Russian front. For a brief time, he was reallocated to the Carpathians with his unit (a marching company) and back to the Eastern front in September 1915 where he was taken captive. The author describes the conditions and activity in captivity. He states that with the approaching front, the conditions were changing and in the spring of 1917, they started building the barracks for the wounded for the Red Cross. In 1918, he outlines the events after the return to the active war events day by day, describing the travel through Siberia in the effort to get to the East, to Vladivostok and then back to his homeland in 1920.
