In the interview, Ladislav Varga-Korytár, a former military musician, Reserve Master Sergeant, recalls his years of study at the military music school (military conservatory) in Roudnice nad Labem and his time in the military garrison music ensemble in Bratislava. He reviews his years of study (1988 – 1992), paying special attention to the significant social changes of 1989, which ultimately had an impact on military music in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Subsequently, he focuses his attention on his professional career from 1992 to 2009, working as a clarinet player and also as a human resources officer in the garrison music in Bratislava.
