This study is aimed mainly at presenting the individual Austro-Hungarian single-shot rifles registered in the collection of the Institute of Military History Bratislava—Museum Department Svidník of the Military Historical Museum Piešt’any, through capturing the general historical development and subsequent detailed description. This is a a way of representation of a part of the armament of the soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Army, urgently defending a significant part of today’s north-eastern Slovakia during the so-called Carpathian Offensive of the Russian Tsarist troops taking place in the said territory at the turn of 1914- 1915. This short, but significant section of the military history of Slovakia is also reflected in the Central Exposition of the Museum in Svidník through modern information panels and three-dimensional objects.
