This study is aimed mily at presenting individual Austro-Hungarian repeating rifles of the Mannlicher system registered in the collection of the Military Historical Institute Bratislava—Museum Department Svidník of the Military Historical Museum Piešťany in the form of a general historical development and subsequent detailed description. In a way they represent one of the main parts of the armament of the Austro-Hungarian imperial and royal army fiercely defending a significant part of the territory of today’s Northeastern Slovakia in the period of the so-called Carpathian Offensive of the Russian tsarist troops, which took place at the turn of 1914-1915. This short, but significant section of the military history of Slovakia is also reflected in the Central Exposition of the Museum in Svidník through modern information panels and three-dimensional objects.
