The study analyses the negotiations of Czechoslovak and Soviet representatives approximately within two months in the autumn of 1968. Th e content of the negotiations was based on the questions of legalization of the Soviet Army (troops) aft er the military intervention in August1968. The author focuses on the dramatic negotiations immediately aft er the intervention that resulted in Moscow Protocol and he proceeds with the negotiations at the level of governments and Ministers of Defense (M. Dzúr, A. Grečko) in Mukatschevo, where they talked about the concrete questions of barracks allocation, warehouses, airports and hospital allocations for the dislocation of the Soviet divisions (regiments) in Czechoslovakia. Th e Treaty on the conditions of a temporary stay of the Soviet troops legalized only the Soviet troops in Czechoslovakia. The Secret Protocol talked on the concrete conditions of the stay of 75000 soldiers in Czechoslovakia. He assumes that the dislocation caused organizational and dispositional changes in the Czechoslovak Army.
