Abstract: This study examines the World War 2 military artefacts discovered during archaeological excavations of an early modern gallows at the Holíč–Šibenica site. The assemblage includes a significant collection of ammunition and other artefacts, primarily of Soviet and German origin. All of these finds are related to the frontline combat that took place in the town on 10–11 April 1945. Through the use of primary written sources, these finds can be linked to specific military units and manoeuvres. The study also highlights the advantages of interdisciplinary research into the World War 2 combat.
