The author describes the establishment of the Air museum in Berlin-Gatow in 1995 and peripeties of the airport, with which this Museum is linked. After the World War II it came under the sphere of the Royal Air Forces of the Great Britain. In 1994 came to the province of Bundeswehr. In the main part of this contribution the author deals with the principal mission of the Museum, which nowadays fulfils, as well as with the structure and personnel cover of the work place.
