Study summarizes results of the historical and archeological research of the Limes Romanus boundary (as the part of the basic camps system of Roman legions component) at the Central Danube from the 1st to 4th century. The author analyzes in this study mainly military and geographic factors of the Central Danube Area which provided to the Romans an effective defence of their provinces against Germanic tribes. During this period the Gerulata — Rusovce fortress was there only one from the main limited boundary camps on the Slovak territory. Besides it the fortified bridgeheads on the left bank of the Danube in Devín, Stupava, Bratislava, Iža near Komárno, and Roman camps in Cifer—Pác and Veľký Kýr too. The camps of the Roman Army were found also in Iža near were Komárno, Radvaň Danube, Mužla and in other places.
