Existence of the Auxiliary Technical Battalions (PTP) in the Czechoslovak Army at the beginning of 50’s was a part of the political violent mechanism against real or made up opponents of the communist regime. It was one of the methods of the political persecutions which was held without judiciary or courts. Its purpose was to isolate politically „unreliable“ soldiers and under the preaure of work „re-education“ to use them as a source of cheap working power for the Army and the national economy needs. In this general social and military connections the author deals with analyses of establishment, development and wide activities of PTP in Slovakia. He describes their organizational structure, dislocation, completing and conditions of job assignments and military service of РТР-members. The author underlines also the process of gradual cancellation of PTPs. The basic overview of all PTPs in the Czechoslovak Army is attached to the study.
