The author in his essay about the destinies of the 1st Technical Division members deals with insufficiently recognized issue of that part of the Slovak Army which became in 1944 - 1945 a component of the German armed forces situated at the territory of Rumania and Hungary. After the end of war members of this division remained as war prisoners in the labour camps in the Soviet Union. The author based his essay work on knowledge gained from personal contacts with former members of the 1st Technical Division and on the documents attached to their requests for military veterans benefits sent to the Certificate Unit of Public Affair Office at the Slovak Ministry of Defence.
