The study deals with the development and activities of the Securing Division of the Slovak Army (ZD) in the occupied territory of Ukraine and Byelorussia from September 1941 to November 1942. It is elaborated on the basis of archive sources. Because this topic had not been processed in the historiography so far, it is necessary to underline its originality. It comprises detailed factographic data, numbers of personnel, ZD's structure, armament, combat activities and counter-insurgency activities. In this connection it points out that at the beginning the ZD wasn't more lenient to the partisans than the German units.
