The author deals in this material with the issues of direct preparations for involvement of Slovakia into the German anti-Polish campaign and the war events impact upon the town of Prešov and its surroundings. He provides the characteristic of PreSov's position as the second largest town of Slovakia and the seat of political, administrative and security authorities of state power after the Vienna Award. He points out that the importance of Prešov region in the context of the Slovak army activities in the conflict with Hungary during the Small War and with the preparation and course of war against Poland was increasing.
