This recollection is a successful attempt to bring to closer attention the war fates of one of the members of the 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps in the USSR. It is a subjective insight of a man in the middle of events, who not only lived them, but also actively formed them. Despite the long time that elapsed since the experienced events the author tries to keep the authenticity of talking. In his recollection he points to the meaningless war and its cruelty, so as they were recorded by the memory of a man in the centre of events. It is a recollection of those people that contributed to the liberation of Czechoslovakia and the defeat of fascism and some of them sacrificed for this objective the most precious they had — their life.
