In this material on the basis of the documents archived in the Document Fund of the MoD SR Certificate Section, in the archives of the Slovak Republic as well as on the basis of knowledge obtained during his study of professional literature the author tried to elucidate the destiny of Slovaks, the Members of thelst Czechoslovak Division in France. He describes the facts connected with the lst Czechoslovak Division establishment and characterises the ways in which the Slovaks or people living in Slovakia became the members of these Czechoslovak military units abroad. He describes the destiny peripetia of those who were seized to German P. O. W. camps. The author refers also to the SR Government concern about the gradual return of the Slovaks, the former Members of the lst  Czechoslovak Division in France to their motherland.
