In the study the author focuses on the issues of educational work in the Slovak Army in 1939 — 1944 according to training years. He deals with directives for individual training years. He refers to the fact that the 1940 directive brings a qualitative change in comparison with the 1939 directive. These directives contain a detailed development of training process to provide a military educator with an opportunity of more deliberate procedure in implementation of tasks. The author refers to the changes occurred from 1 October 1940 to 31 September 1941 in the education of a Slovak soldier. The military education was divided into military, ethical and physical training. Part of educational work was a systematic cultural and national education made through radio, period press, and talks with soldiers and lectures. Since the second half of 1941 the education of Slovak soldiers was marked with an active involvement of the Slovak Army in a field seizure against the Soviet Union. In this period it was stressed all the time that the Slovak Republic does not conduct a war against the brotherly Slavic nation but only against the hostile Bolshevik regime in order to protect culture and morality. The last training year in the Slovak Army may be considered the year 1943 — 1944, in its final period violently interrupted by the outbreak of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP).
