In the study the author developed a basic survey on the armaments industry development in Slovakia, its orientation, tasks and results of its production since the end of the World War II to 1953. He dealt namely with the end of so-called armaments triennum focusing on building the armaments industry in the Czecho-Slovak Republic and to secure armament of the Czecho-Slovak Army so as to be prepared for an expected war of the Soviet block with West. The author paid main attention to production of weapons (combat equipment, weapon systems). The author briefly characterised the limited base of the armaments industry in Slovakia at the end of 30s, the armaments industry of the war Slovak Republic and its condition after the end of the World War II. At the conclusion the author referred to basic conceptual aims in building the army and its armament.
