In the study the author describes the aim of the establishment of fortification authorities of the Czecho-Slovak Military Administration after the end of World War II. At the beginning there was the establishment of the Fortification Section at the Engineering Troops Headquarters in November 1945. Its experts developed an extensive project (divided into 2 stages) of reconstruction and finalisation of Czecho-Slovak fortification of 1935 — 1938. At the end there was the establishment of the Fortification Works Directorate to 1 March 1947 that determined the schedule of reconstruction works and assumed the responsibility for co-ordination of activity of all elements within the military administration (e. g. construction sections headquarters etc.). The author states that real works at restoration of the fortification from the first Republic that started only in 1947 were much less costly than the original grandiose projects expected. A new construction was not realised at all. In the essence the author focuses on the characteristics of construction and reconstruction works in specified sections of the Czecho-Slovak fortification during 1947 — 1952. In the last part the author characterises the principal construction and reconstruction works of the Czecho-Slovak heavy facilities (infantry log cabins) in the sections in Bratislava — Petržalka and in Southern Moravia during 1959 — 1960.
