The author profiles the personality of Colonel V. Talský, his military career, he analyses his personal and military gualities that could co-influence his personal decision which had affected failure of East Slovakian Divisions in the first days of the Slovak National Uprising. In the first part, he describes his operation in Czechoslovakian army before war and he pays attention to his qualities as professional soldier documented by extracts from his service evaluations. In the second part the author devoted himself to the operation of Talsky in the army of war Slovak Republic. During Slovak State Declaration in March 1939 V. Talsky operated in the function of superintendent of Intelligent Section of 9h Infantry Division. From the half of 1941 to the end of November 1941  he was a head of Rapid Division Staff deployed into a war against the Soviet Union. Having come back from front he had mostly worked as the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of National Defence. In central part the author describes well-known circumstances of East Slovakian army disarmament and monitors the attitudes of Talsky. In a closing part the author charts Talsky stint after return to the Eastern Slovakia from the command of the 15 Ukrainian  Front and his operation in the 1st Czechoslovakian Army Corps.
