The material examines up to now not compiled issue of military cemeteries from the era of the First World War on the present territory of Slovakia. The author concentrates himself on the problems with burying of the huge number of soldier who were killed from 1914 to 1915. He focuses on the necessity to establish military cemeteries, the command of Austria-Hungary Army started to build them up in Halič in May of 1915. At the Slovakian side of the Carpathians the establishment of military cemeteries started in 1916 and their arrangement continued up to the Second World War. The author maps all facts, data and events, which he managed to find out on the basis of archival sources study.
