The revolution of the years 1848 — 1949 represented a significant milestone in the history of the majority of the European countries. It took place on threshold of the civic society and at the same time the program of national emancipation came forth for the first time within this revolution. The future generations called this phenomenon „the spring of nations“. Although the revolutionary armed movement of the Slovak people did not result in the fulfilment of hopes and expectations pinned on it by its leaders, it was of great historical importance for the whole following national development. The published study maps political and military events from September 1848 to October 1848 in the area of mining towns of the middle Slovakia. The author picks up the threads of previous works published in the past — mainly the documents of D. Rapant and on the basis of own archival research he also brings up some new partial knowledge.
