The published study deals with a dramatic and rather complicated issue of the military conflict of the Czechoslovak Republic with the Hungary Republic of Councils in 1919, which has not been elaborated comprehensively neither in the Czech historiography nor in the Slovak one. The mentioned conflict is dealt with from the point of the role of the French military mission in the Czechoslovak Republic. More specifically and on the basis of French archival sources in the archive Service historique de Armeé de Terre in Vincennes, the author brings more supported and credible views on some statements about the role of the French military mission in the Czechoslovak Republic, which are passed on in historical literature even since the fifties of the past century.
