In the published study the author elaborated one of the most famous campaigns of the American civil war conducted in spring 1862 in the valley of the Virginia river Shenandoah. A small confederation army of Major-General T. J. Jackson then with success resisted far more numerous troops of the Union and by posturing raids to Washington diverted attention of the enemy command from the attack to the capital of the South — Richmond. Elaborating the study the author drew from recent professional, scientific and popularising resources of US, British, Czech and other proveniences, including multimedial ones.
