Based on studying archive materials and the contemporary press the author approached the armed

border conflict that took place in the area to the south of the Slovak town Rimavská Sobota, shortly after acceptation of conditions of the well-known Munich Dictate by the Czechoslovak President and Government. The author states that on 5th October 1938 in the mentioned area there was an aggressive act of the Hungarian defence power in the Czechoslovak territory. Describing the mentioned conflict the author combined the thematic aspect of several mutually overlapping chapters and chronology of military, social and political events in Slovakia from September to December 1938. He approaches the role of Czechoslovak permanent reinforcements and special technical equipment on roads played when stopping one of penetrating Hungarian units on 5th October 1938 in Oravka.
