In the introduction the author reminds positions of the Slovak Republic on the Geneva Convention on Treating the War Prisoners of 27 July 1929 when the Soviet Union in contradiction to Slovakia did not accede to this Convention. The author describes development of change in Soviet positions on the issue of war prisoners since 1939. In the next part of the study he depicts the existence of military prisoner camps established in Slovakia, in Čemerné and in Oremov village that were arranged in connection with involvement of Slovaks in the campaign against the Soviet Union in summer 1941.
