The existence of the Army of the Slovak Republic since 1993 provoked the author to search the military slang in use. He characterised its arrangement in layers and with help of basic terms he described its vocabulary. He also characterised mutual relation  between the Slovak language typical for official service and the Slovak military slang for the military historiography. He elucidated the general and special Slovak military slang,  professional and expressive vocabulary of Slovak military slang. He referred to regional differentiation of the slang. At the same time he stated that social changes had impact upon using of slangs too.
