In this study the author considers the military deployment of members of the Czech minority in Volhynia in the Ukraine in the 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps in the USSR in the years 1944 — 1945. He considers their mobilisation following the arrival of the Red Army in Volhynia in the spring of 1944, the attempt made by the communists to influence them politically and ideologically, their participation in the battles of the Carpathian-Dukla Operation, and their part in the liberation of Slovakia and Moravia.
