The published material deals with the issue of preparation of Slovakia for the war against the USSR and its impact upon the life of population in the region of the Šariš-Zemplín district. He documents displays of preparation for the war in the mentioned region, e. g. improving of roads in the direction to Prešov — Dukla Pass and Michalovce Humenné — Medzilaborce, laying of remote cable on the route Prešov — Rzesöw, building of telegraph and telephone line. He pays attention also to transfers of German troops that required alteration of the security situation in the district, strengthening of gendarmery stations and co-ordination of the activity of gendarmery and financial guard.
