The author deals with the issue of Polish Armed Forces before confrontation with the Nazi aggression. He takes note of the defensive grouping, which role was to stop the attack of the German Army from the territory of Slovakia. This issue directly concerns the participation of Slovakia in the Polish campaign. The author characterises the internal situation in the Republic of Poland before the German aggression, he analyses the status of the Polish Army before the World War II. He points out its inadequate readiness in case of the approaching aggression and main shortcomings of the armament and material equipment of the Polish army.
