The geopolitical position of Spain in the period of the World War II and associated circumstances represent issues having not a tiny vertone for the current Slovak society. A broader circle represents mapping of the position and goals of the Spanish foreign or security policy in this period in relation to its neighbours and great powers of both camps (to Allies and to Powers of Axis) that the published study describes from the end of the civil war to the beginning of the world war when the peace base of Spanish relations with great powers was formed. The author does not restrict only to stating of Spanish neutrality, but analyses concrete steps too. In further parts of the study the author focuses on the relation of Spain, great powers and direct neighbours — Portugal and France. Economic needs of the state are unequivocally and clearly explained by the author, e.g. on the relation of Spain and the USA or Great Britain.
