In this study the author tries to raise a whole complex of issues associated with the situation in Europe in 1805 that resulted in the Third Anti-French Coalition. He states that till now historians did not manage to answer the question who caused this war. Napoleon’s expansionism and arrogance, with which he treated the conquered territories, together with systematic preparation for landing of his troops in the English seacoast, hallmarked him as an aggressor. The author points out that in looking for causes of the war in 1805 we may not neglect a circumstance that was in the given moment represented by the French economy. He showed what led separate members of anti-French coalition to such a decision. He described a course of separate battles that resulted in the Battle of Austerlitz on 2nd December 1805. In this battle Napoleon lured his adversaries into a trap and defeated them in the battle, in which he showed his strategic and tactic superiority.
