The study deals with the question of the Slovak Army troops deployment in the Eastern front during the World War II – the Artillery Regiment 31 deployment to defensive battles of German troops in the region of Kharkov in May 1942. This text is characterized by the author’s effort to give a complex view of this artillery regiment movement from the Safety Division´s zone of operation to the deployment area in the formation of the German 6th Field Army at Kharkov, its inclusion into the first echelon of the German 17th Army Corps, development of the front situation in the Kharkov area and the Corps activity during first days of the offensive operation of the Soviet South-Western Front troops.
