The author who is for a long time pursuing military issues of anti-fascist resistance movement in Slovakia and the Slovak National Uprising and in addition to it also the history of special, intelligence and diversionary groups sent to the territory of Slovakia from the territory of the USSR, now fastened his attention to less known issues of the partisan movement history in Slovakia. Neither before 1989 was elaboration of the history of separate partisan units very attractive as just in this field there are many deformations and legends and often it is very difficult to be well informed about a tangle of various factographies and memoirs. In his efforts he was guided by an attempt to reveal some organisational and personal issues of the 4th Partisan Brigade establishment, so far not quite clarified. In his work the author drew on all archive sources and memories available.
