Viliam Pavlovič as a captain of the Slovak Army witnessed the events at the end of October 1943 during the combat invasion of the 1st infantry division to the south of Kachovka. On 30th of October 1943, accompanied by lieutenant-colonel of the Slovak Army Viliam Lichner voluntary joined the Red Army. He represented the leaders of the regiment of the Slovak voluntaries in Usman and the second-in-command of the regiment. Later, aft er the transport to Jefremov he contributed to the organization of 2nd Czechoslovak airborne brigade and he worked at the headquarter of the Czechoslovak Armed forces in USSR. On the basis of the accusation of having published an article against USSR and The Red Army, he was excluded from Th e Czechoslovak Armed forces and sent to a convict camp. He came back to Slovakia no sooner than in 1947. Th e published documents, mainly the Memoirs from the revolt from October 30 1943 to November 5 1944 are a valuable eviction of the destinies of the Slovak soldiers in Eastern front and of the grounds from which as a part of the 1st Czechoslovak Armed forces in USSR 2nd airborne brigade was established.
