The published material is a translated version of the current archive material in English. Th e content of the material concerned consists of the pieces of information received from Joachim Peiper, the former commander of the German tank troops during the World War Two. Th e topic covered the complex situation of the regiment before the offensive, the first signals of the offensive, the transport to the location of the assembly, the plans, the preparations, the start of the offensive, the battle at Stavelot as well as the failure.
