The author of the study deals with the conditions in Byzantine Empire during the reign of John II Komnenos who was fully solving the problem of the relationship with the Pechenegs. At first, he focused on naming the sources dealing with the battle of John II Komnenos against Pechenegs at Beroia in 1122. He gives a detailed characteristics of the sources dated closest to the event. Th e author deals with the position of individual authors, actually, what information could they received about the Battle and the reign of John II Komnenos. In addition, he answers the question of the strategical situation of the Byzantine empire at the beginning of the 1120s; he solves the problem of the battle location and its exact date, as the sources are not exact or vary extensively in the question. Th e study provides not only the outline of the preparation of the Battle, its story and the outcomes of the Battle at Beroia, it also comes to the conclusions of strengthening the power of Byzantine Empire and the liquidation of the Pechenegs threats.
