The study is linked with the outcomes of the authors presented in the previous series of the magazine Military history. In the study, they follow the activity of German military committee serving in Slovakia from May to October 1939, when it was replaced by a famous German military mission. The task of German military committee (the translator´s note: DMK- German abbreviation) was to solve the problems of the extent and the statute of the defensive zone, as well as Slovak armament industry, then the status of a numerous Slovak Army, the transport of the former Czech-Slovak armaments to Germany, or leaving a part of it in Slovakia for the Slovak Army needs, respectively. Th e source base consists of the documents of German provenience stored in the fond of Alexandrian archive in Slovak national archive, and the materials from Military historical archive in Bratislava. Th e authors base the study mainly on the information from a preserved diary of the Committee. Th ey proved that the activity of the Committee decisively determined later character of German- Slovak relationships, the face of the Slovak Army, and that it played a role as well in the Slovak intervention into the war against Poland.
