Bratislava. The author talks about he topic of the fates of the former Slovak war state officers in Czechoslovakia aft er February 1948. As they formed the majority of the officers of Slovak origin the issue of their active service and further existence in the Czechoslovak army was a specifi c problem mainly due to the political need of the respect of the national aspect in the professional formation of officers’ corps and the overall lack of professional preparation of cadres. Author analyses the consequences of the „great purgation“ for a group of Slovak veterans as well as the fact how it was reflected in the approach to the solution of mere formation of officers´ corps, specially when the nationalistic structure was concerned. A special attention is paid to the formation of Czecho-Slovak commanders´ corps, especially Generals corps in the relationship with the mentioned group, which should respectively illustrate the realization of the army policy in practice.
