The material approaches the historical facts linked with circumstances of foundation, activity and practical operation of the convict camp aimed at English and American aviators shot above Slovak republic. The convict camp was managed by the Ministry of Army of Slovak republic since 12 August 1944, in accordance with the Article 9 at sequence, of Geneva Act on Treatment of war convicts from 27 July 1929, which had been applied also by Slovak republic. The camp was organized in a military way and was under the commandership and management of the Ministry of Army of Slovak Republic. Th e camp operated up to the Slovak National Uprising, when it was released by its commander and he moved safely with a part of its convicts to Banská Bystrica. The saved aviators assembled in Banská Bystrica were transported by plane to Italy to the lands under the power of American military corps between 17.9.1944 and 7.10.1944.
