Paper describes historical facts on the modernization of morally outdated Aviation fleets of the Slovak Air Forces by procurement of modern aviation technique in Italy. The work follows the historical events on the background of the commands intention and its practical realization to equip a bombardment fleet with a three-engine bombardier such as Savoia Marchetti SM-84 and SM-84bis. The material bears also the information stemming from the track record of the pilots flights that were flying over to Slovakia in the Eve of outbreak of the Slovak National Uprising. The content of the study essentially contributes to the knowledge of historical facts linked with shipment of the planes to Slovakia in the years of WWII.
