The published study deals with an establishment of independent professional analyses, doctrines, directives and standards in General Staff of AF SR, its more than a year –long profi le, results and development to the nearest future. The author states that the system of creating visions, conceptions, military doctrines, professional studies, directives and aids in the recent years has not met the requirements. The divided effort amongst more organizational units of several levels brought about roadblocks in practice of its management. The communication with international organizations on the issue of revision and establishment conceptions, standards, doctrines and experience from military operations was decentralized. There was a lack of a uniting factor in order to solve the issue. The Department of professional analyzes, doctrines, directives and standards of General Staff of AF SR (J-7), subordinated to the Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Slovakia was established to increase the quality of the work in the field on 1st Aug 2007.
