The author focuses on some commands, directives, and rules of Slovak commanders and officers in 1941 –1943, concerning the relations to military convicts, the security status in the besieged Soviet area, with the activity of partisans and the soldiers of the opposition movement and with the relationships to the general public. The author emphasizes the fact that throughout the course of such commands there came a turn into a harsh German approach towards the war strategy into those Slovak units. It was nothing but that approach that could force some individuals from the Slovak commanders and soldiers to their own drastic actions when performing their occupancy policy. The author deals with: the Slovak approach towards the Soviet military convicts and the use of their workforce, then with the prevention of spying and sabotages as well as the approaches towards deserters and convicted air forces crew. The Slovak approach towards the general public is marked as ambivalent. A welcome treatment of Slovak soldiers was very much appreciated; their loyalty was much needed those days. There was a prevailing liquidation approach towards the Soviet partisan, however the performance of anti-partisan commands was yet hesitating and formal. Slovak soldiers more than often avoided the clashes with partisans.
