MIČIANIK, Pavel: MIČIANIK, P.: Fast division in German offensive towards Rostov.

Vojenská história, 2, 13, 2009, pp. 43–70. The study deals with the assignment of Slovak Fast Division (SFD) in German summer offensive (June – July) in 1942 that was decisive in the war against USSR and should have helped Germany to take over aft er an unsuccessful operation Barbarossa in 1941. The author emphasizes that SFD had been in a continual service from the November 1941 in the defense of the river Mius. In order to be re-used off ensively it was necessary to supply it with personnel, armaments and cars. The Slovak party had been negotiating with Germans on the material supply since the beginnings of 1942. The negotiations were pro-longed and that is why the Division joined the German offensive actions in the end of July 1942 without the armaments supply and support. In the course of the actions the Division captured more than 10 000 Red-Armenian and confirmed its famous reputation from the autumn 1941. The performance was later awarded by the superior German headquarters.
