The author offers in his study his long-life results of the archive research of the Czechoslovak Army participation on defensive mine countermeasures in Slovakia aft er the WWII in 1945 – 1966. The study providing summarized factual information in numbers and concise tables extends the contemporary scale of the facts available published so far. Chronologically he focuses on the development of the countermeasures in particular parts of Slovakia, their organizational structure and the identifi cation of the assigned troops. The knowledge on the countermeasures in the parts beyond the east of Slovakia are found particularly valuable as there have been poorly covered so far in studies. The author concentrates not only on the development of the works, the documentation of human losses, the organizational issues, but also on the social care and the moral appraisal of the troop members in 1946–1948.
