The author of the article deals with a very interesting, yet not profoundly investigated period of the life of Ferdinand Čatloš and it is the period of the mobilization of Czechoslovak military forces in September and October 1938 up to his assignment as the Deputy of the Chief Commander in the Slovak autonomy government. There are 2 different approaches in archives according to the author. Firstly, he was supposed to be the Chief Staff Officer of the Frontier region 37, being under the commanding of General Jindřich Jiří Birula - guiding the frontiers from Horný Benešov up to Jablunkovský priesmyk. According to the second approach he had the same post in the 8th Division, being commanded by General Otakar Zahálka, which as a reserve unit was situated near Moravský Beroun.
